Talibon’s Electoral Candidates joined the “Covenant Signing” sponsored by the Philippine National Police on April 11, 2016; initially convening at the Blessed Trinity Cathedral and showing a united front with a “Unity Walk” towards the SB Session Hall at the Municipal Hall.

At the SB Session Hall and after a few instructions and a short prayer, the candidates were called upon to sign the tarpaulin which was initiated by Mayor Restituto B. Auxtero and other mayoral candidates: Hon. Epifanio F. Quimson and Carlito V. Evangelista, Sr.   All other candidates took turns signing the tarpaulin followed by the witnesses, to wit: Atty. Avelino N. Puracan (Chairman of the Mediation Team), Msgr. Alberto Sy Uy, E.V. (Blessed Trinity Cathedral Administrator – representing the religious sector) and LTC Jose Dodjie C. Belloga (Commander of the 47th Infantry Katapatan Battalion), Police Bongator representing the PSInsp. Eduard A. Sanchez.

The witnesses were given the floor to give short messages and both encouraged the group to uphold a clean, honest and peaceful election; for the group to avoid vote buying which the church are strongly campaigning against.

The activity was fully supported by the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Bureau of Fire Protection, the Bureau of Jail Management & Penology, the Mediation Team, and the Parish Pastoral Council who joined the “Unity Walk” and witnessed the signing at the SB Session Hall. (ellenmarieobuno)
