LGU-Talibon Vested Upon with Prestigious CSC Awards
Civil Service Confers Recognition for Talibon (Titled by Bohol Tribune. Issue dated Sept. 13-19, 2015)
LGU-Talibon came to the limelight twice when she was awarded, first, of a Certificate of Recognition as one of the Civil Service Commission’s Partners and second, as one of three who passed rigid scrutiny by CSC to be dubbed the quickest and most efficient Brigada Agensya, Category B in a Regional Awarding Ceremony held at the Social Hall of the Cebu Provincial Capitol on September 8, 2015 at 1:00 in the afternoon.
With the theme “Kayang Kaya Mo, Lingkod Bayani”, the Civil Service Commission celebrated its 115th Anniversary and on this occasion saw fit to recognize institutions who were its partners in implementing programs put forth by the Commission and exemplary individuals and government agencies who met the criteria on public service in their different work stations.
Out of 47 municipalities of Bohol, the Municipality of Talibon, Bilar, Ubay and Balilihan were the only municipalities honored by the by the Civil Service Commission Region VII as its partners.
With regards to the “Brigada Agensya” Plaque of Recognition, the Municipality of Talibon was recognized for its immediate rehabilitation of its municipal hall and other infrastructures when they incurred damages after the October 15, 2013 earthquake.
Mayor Restituto B. Auxtero’s main concern was the safety of the employees and so rehabilitation was given priority. Work started immediately with municipal funds. Full rehab was accomplished, complete with the total makeover of the Hall, when financial help arrived thru the Bohol Earthquake Assistance Fund.
“Brigada Ahensya” was put up pursuant to CSC Memo Circular No. 12, s 2009 giving yearly recognition and small tokens to government offices who met the criteria for selection in 4 categories, namely: Category A – Adherence to Five S Principles; Category B – Repairs, Refurbishing, and Repainting of Fixtures; Category C – Landscaping; and Category D – Solid Waste Management.
LGU-Talibon met all criteria put forth under Category B by the Commission including pictures of the municipal hall after the earthquake and before rehab was done. Garnering more points than the rest, LGU-Talibon was the ONLY municipality who was conferred with the “Brigada Agensya” award. Two other agencies received the prestigious award, namely: the Abellana National School and the Social Security System – Cebu Branch. Ms. Sarah Jane Redulla (Municipal HRM Officer) and Mayor Restituto B. Auxtero received the plaque for LGU-Talibon.
The awards were additions to its ever-flowing cup with another award in the offing, the Seal of Good Housekeeping – Gold Category, the highest that the Department of Interior & Local Government can confer wherein good performance in internal housekeeping, particularly in the areas of local legislation, development planning, resource generation, resource allocation and utilization, customer service, and human resource management and development, as well as, in valuing the fundamental of good governance were taken into consideration.
